About me
Hi! I’m Stella Poort, 24 years old and about to graduate from Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. During my studies I got to play with visual design in plenty of fun projects.
Before starting this programme, I completed my training as an interior advisor at the Hout- en Meubileringscollege, a Dutch college for wood and furnishing in Amsterdam. There I worked a lot with design, materials and colour, and developed my love for art and drawing further. I now combine this with my interest in graphic design.
Creativity plays a big role in my life. In my free time I love drawing, painting, doing nail art and making short videos. I enjoy experimenting with colours, shapes and images, and creating something new every time.

During my CMD studies I realised that I actually quite miss making things with my hands. Before I started studying CMD, I was always drawing, painting and making things. Within CMD I mainly started working digitally, which made me long for the physical and creative side even more.
As a designer, I therefore want to keep looking for the combination of digital design and art. I love working with my hands, trying out different materials and techniques, and discovering how I can combine this with what I learned during CMD.
For now, I am mainly exploring how I can bring that bit of art and making back into my work. I want to keep developing myself in this and see where that combination of art, design and my own style takes me.
